At The Beauty Haven we use ®NeoStrata’s professional range of facial chemical peels, applied by our trained therapists. NeoStrata® is the original creator of the glycolic acid peel, and we exclusively use their professional grade peels. NeoStrata® ProSystem is a highly effective, peeling system used by medical skincare professionals and is clinically proven to achieve outstanding and predictable results in skincare.
The Beauty Haven offers the flexibility of different peels and concentrations. This allows us to design a treatment programme to specifically meet your individual needs. The Ph Level of a peel is equally as important as the percentage strength as it determines penetration. The lower the Ph the deeper it penetrates.
NeoStrata® ProSystem superficial peels are often referred to as “lunchtime peels”. AHA peels have the advantage of being non-toxic and are used for superficial peeling of the skin because they require little recovery time. Usually done in a series of controlled treatments, AHA peels are often comparable in their results to some deeper peels without the complications. NeoStrata® ProSystem utilises three different alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs); glycolic acid, citric acid and Mandelic acid. AHAs are naturally occurring acids found in fruits and other foods.
A high concentration of AHA is safely applied to the skin for a short period of time and then chemically neutralised to end the treatment. This procedure helps to remove the damaged layer of surface skin cells revealing fresh skin, stimulating cell turnover and encouraging anti-ageing effects in the deeper skin layers. A series of peels can help the skin appear healthier, smoother, plumper, firmer, less oily and more even-toned with fewer acne blemishes.

You now can combine our most popular Dermaplaning facial with our NeoStrata® Skin peels in one visit! Many common skin problems are associated with the excess build-up of dead skin cells that make the skin thick and dull and may cause clogged pores. The NeoStrata® Skin Peel not only works at the skin’s surface to exfoliate dead, dull surface layers, it also stimulates the process of cell renewal among all layers, to reveal fresher, healthier cells. Dermaplaning post peel can boost your results and leave your skin feeling extremely soft and responsive to post procedure products.

Recommended at 3-4-week intervals. The NeoStrata® Skin peels can be used in conjunction with our other advanced facial techniques. Your therapist can recommend a programme to maximise your results based upon your skin needs.

Being able to provide specific skin peel programs is one of the many benefits of working with The NeoStrata® ProSystem. Your journey will begin with the AHA ProSystem Skin Peel and you can progress to the ProSystem Retinol Peels and benefit from both types of Peels that we offer at The Beauty Haven. 3-4 Weekly intervals are recommended.
A glycolic acid peel treatment is a specific technique for skin renewal. It removes the damaged layer of surface skin cells and reveals the fresh healthy skin beneath, whilst stimulating cellular renewal and restructuring of the deeper skin layers. The Peel solution is applied to your skin whilst we monitor your individual response to the treatment, this will determine the length of your treatment, based upon your skin’s responses and comfort levels during the procedure.
Glycolic Acid is an AHA, or alpha-hydroxy acid which is a group of naturally occurring substances often called ‘fruit acids’ because they are found naturally in various fruits. In fact, Glycolic acid is found in sugar cane juice. Dermatologists have long praised the positive results of AHA treatments due to their benefits in improving skin appearance and texture.
This treatment is great for making skin appear smoother, healthier and tighter with a more even skin texture and tone. Great for those with dry skin, oily and acne-prone skin, and beneficial in reducing pigmentation such as age/sun spots.
NeoStrata® have recommended post-peel products to condition and strengthen your skins barriers for best results, which your therapist will discuss with you prior to the treatment. It’s important to minimise sun exposure after a chemical peel as the skin will be more susceptible to sun damage.
As these are only mild to medium peels, patients may experience some minor redness after treatment and there might be some mild peeling or flaking of skin in the days that follow but these side effects do not last long and can be covered up with makeup. During the treatment you may experience slight discomfort which may include stinging, burning, itching, tingling or a heat like sensation.
At The Beauty Haven we offer courses of 3 or 6 treatments for the best results. Results vary from person to person. Some might experience dryness, roughness or sight irritation and mild peeling. It is important to note you do NOT have to experience peeling to get results. You will see and feel the difference after just one treatment, but your results are accumulative over several visits..
There are some circumstances under which it’s not advisable to have a peel. These include. Autoimmune disease, Active Herpes Simplex, Diabetes, Cancer, Thyroid conditions, pregnancy and breast feeding. Oral retinoids (Roaccutane) cannot have been taken for 6 months prior to having a peel and you need to stop using topical retinoids for two weeks before a peel. A peel will also be contraindicated if your skin is sun/wind burnt.
