The first of its kind, Profhilo® is a revolutionary beneath the skin hyaluronic acid moisturising treatment. Profhilo is a unique hyaluronic acid injectable gel, that works by stimulating the production of collagen and elastin in the skin through the slow release of Hyaluronic Acid (HA). Unlike other anti-ageing injectables that use fillers to add volume and stretch out the skin, Profhilo uses Hyaluronic Acid, a naturally occurring substance in the body to hydrate, firm and rebuild new, younger-looking skin cells.

How Profhilo works
Hyaluronic acid is precisely injected into the area being treated. Once the gel enters the skin it begins attracting water in the deeper layers of the skin.
As a stabilised product, the activity on dermal cells will last longer than that of a non-stabilised gel. During this time the stimulation of four different types of collagen and elastin takes place by the slow release of hyaluronic acid.
The stimulation results in significant tissue improvement, and has a tightening/lifting effect on the skin.

With dermal fillers, the results tend to be very localised because the gel only stays in the area in which it has been injected. However Hyaluronic Acid is different. The Profhilo treatment process
Consultation
The first step in your Profhilo anti-ageing journey is to book a consultation with one of our trained Profhilo practitioners. We will talk to you about what it is you want to achieve from your treatment, as well as making sure you're a suitable candidate for Profhilo enhancement treatment. We will talk you through the process and collaborate with you to find a treatment plan that works for you. Above all, we want you to feel comfortable and safe during your treatment here with us at The Beauty Haven. If you're happy with your treatment plan then your Profhilo appointment can be booked in.
Before your Treatment
Before your treatment, you should avoid blood thinners like aspirin and other anti-inflammatories like Ibuprofen or Aleve, fish oil, multivitamins or vitamin E for at least a day beforehand, as they can increase the appearance of bruising after the treatment. We also advised that you avoid alcohol and caffeine for 24 hours before your appointment.
During your Treatment
During your treatment, we can apply a numbing cream if required to make sure the procedure is comfortable for you. The areas to be treated are carefully marked out and then injected with Profhilo using a tiny needle. This can cause some mild discomfort, but most people find it easily tolerable, especially when numbing cream is used.
The entire treatment process usually takes under 30 minutes and has no required recovery time, so you can get back to your day straight after treatment.
After your Treatment
After treatment, you may experience mild swelling or bruising, although this usually goes down within a few days, leaving you with a plump, youthful appearance. You should try and avoid touching the area & or taking part in any intense exercise for 24 hours after treatment to make sure you don't disturb or displace the Profhilo. drinking plenty of water is essential. Water is attracted to Hyaluronic acid and staying hydrated will boost your results!
The amount of time the Profhilo takes to break down varies from person to person depending on the volume, type and location of filler injected, as well as the natural levels of hyaluronidase in the body. Generally, Profhilo will last for around six months, though optimum results can vary from around three to eighteen months.
Top-up sessions are recommended leading up to the 6-month mark to maintain the results. If you exceed the 6-month mark we would recommend a full treatment with two- Treatment Summary
